A feeling of floating and buoyancy is like the body’s happiness signature.  When people are happy they talk about feeling ‘light-hearted’.  They are ‘up’ and their spirits feel ‘free’.  This starkly contrasts with those other times that do happen when our hearts feel heavy, we feel a ‘weight on our shoulders’ and a sense of being ‘down’.

The heaviness we experience is not physical weight.  If we got on the bathroom scales we wouldn’t actually weigh heavier - but we really do feel heavier.  These feelings of either heaviness or buoyancy are qualities of our energy.  Negative or depleted energy sits lower in the energy field.  It is much heavier and more dense and it doesn’t flow freely.  Positive or nourished energy is uplifting.  It flows freely, is refined, pure and light and actually holds you up.

Since our energy is effected by our thoughts, mindfulness practice has a big part to play in reversing inner gravity so that we can experience more buoyancy and freedom in our lives.  I’m not talking about “thinking positive” here.  I’m talking about using mindful awareness to create inner space so that there is room to loosen up and process stuck energy.  As the stuck energy disperses, your natural light comes forward and grows brighter.  Energy starts to flow freely again and you can connect with the flow of life…  It's that wonderful feeling of floating through the day.
